Product experience has gone digital. When it comes to furniture and furnishings, consumers still like to go to a retail environment to touch the materials and see the product in real life. Nevertheless, today’s pathway to purchase starts long before customers even set foot in a store. Your shop window is in their homes, at their offices, on the bus and in the café. People want to be inspired, to play with different layouts and combinations, compare decoration options and see how it all fits together. Simply showing images, or even videos, just isn’t enough to compete anymore.
We’ve developed our own standard software, specifically for the home market. The Room Builder is an app that allows you to create actual room layouts and populate it with home products from its own catalogue. With its specialized augmented reality technology you can see selected furniture in your own room, immediately and without the need for a marker. The app was launched as an open platform for all brands as Amikasa (winner of Webby award in 2015) and is used in custom implementations by Marks & Spencer and Ralph Lauren Home.
